You might think I am trying to paint French countryside like Monet but this scenery is based on the photo of the undevelop part of University Washington campus that I took last summer.

Old Barn in Osoyoos, Canada

This painting is based on my Japanese friend's photo who visited Osoyoos and other Canadian towns for birdwatching.

Caves of Torrey Pines

Even though I am not a golfer, it was exciting to see the US Open on Monday, June 16. How can an artist show the excitement of the game? Start playing golf? No, not really.

I happened to visit Torrey Pines in 2007 and I have many photographs from the beach near the golf course. So I decided to paint from one of them. The beach has an interesting structure with bushes and shrubs I do not see here in the Northwest. This location is a little away from the water looking down into the caves.

This is based on the photo I took a while ago. I posted the photo for my Japanese friends to paint. I am looking forward to seeing their work. The size of this painting is 9" x 12" (30.5cm x 22.5cm).
